Normani – Motivation Single Review

Normani Motivation

It’s about time Normani gets her time to shine. Not that she hasn’t been doing so in the past few years with the amazing collabs with Khalid, Sam Smith, and 6LACK. This time, Normani goes solo in her new single Motivation and she shines bright.

Motivation is a single released by Normani that is set to be featured in her upcoming debut album. The song was co-written by Ariana Grande, someone we do love on this blog and was released by RCA records. I’m not going to deny that I do have my fair share of problems with the record company given how they treated Tinashe or made Bring Me The Horizon all pop-rock but I’m sure they have a goldmine with Normani.

The song was definitely meant to be a summer vibe (even if that is coming to an end for my friends in the US and UK). I like how catchy the beats are and how it gives you that funky feeling. It’s a great song really.

We won’t even discuss her vocals because we know what she is capable of. Can we just talk about her dancing? My goodness, Normani can dance. It is so relevant in the music video that she is one serious performer. She has actually stated that she grew up listening to Destiny’s Child and those ladies were serious performers. Seeing her getting inspiration from Beyonce, Mitchelle and Kelly Rowland is awe-inspiring.

Is this her time to shine?

I only knew two members of Fifth Harmony; Camila and Normani. Camila’s success story has been great but I felt that Normani is seriously underrated as an artist. Remember when she almost won that dancing competition? We all know she was supposed to win.

With the release of Motivation, I have lots of hope for Normani. She is a force that cannot be stopped. And it clearly shows with her YouTube views at 10 million in just two days. She is ready to conquer the pop world and I’ll be waiting for her album to drop. I might be getting ahead of myself but that it’s going to be great.

Motivation is a great pop song from Normani that officially starts her reign in the pop world. I’m excited about this new phase of her career and let’s hope her album will be great as well. 8.8/10
