Top 40 Songs Kenya – 9th July 2019

Top 40 Kenya 9th July

Welcome back to the segment that reviews the top most popular songs in Kenya right now; This is the Top 40 Songs Kenya – 9th July 2019. The data is provided by Apple Music. July is off to a slow start; there are barely new songs in the charts and that is fine. I was actually considering doing the full 100 songs but that would be very tedious on my end.

For the newcomers, I look at the top 40 songs every two weeks and the reviews are summed up in two sentences. If I reviewed the song in a previous article, I just give the score; you would have to go back to the older posts to see what I thought about the song. Unfortunately, I’ll have to keep repeating the rules every time because I’m a nice guy.

(Hi, if you found this page via Google Search Engine, that’s great. But there are newer posts about the top 40 songs so you can go here and check out the other posts. Okay, thanks)

With that said, these are the top 40 songs in Kenya as of 9th July 2019.

#40 Dreamville feat Buddy, Smino, Cozz, EARTHGANG, JID & J Cole – 1993: So, Dreamville released a new compilation which I have enjoyed so far. A full review is coming soon but I love the 90s rap feel of the song and how they seem to have fun making the song. 9/10

#39 Lil Nas X & Cardi B – Rodeo: 7/10

#38 DaBaby – Suge: 6/10

#37 Dreamville feat EARTHGANG – Swivel: This song is actually from a different album by EARTHGANG and it is a vibe. I could listen to this kind of hip hop all day. 8.5/10

#36 Chris Brown feat Justin Bieber -Don’t Check On Me: This is one of my favorite songs from Chris Brown’s new album. Justin made a better guest appearance in this song than in that weird song with Ed Sheeran. 8.8/10

#35 Koffee – Toast: 8/10

#34 Dave feat Burna Boy – Location: 6/10

#33 Dreamville feat J Cole, Zoink Gang, KEY! & Maxo Cream – Oh Wow…Swerve: Can you kindly wait for a full review? Because I don’t think two sentences will emphasize how good this compilation is. 8.5/10

Don’t worry, the review is actually in the works. Check back after a day or two.

#32 Wiley, Stefflon Don & Sean Paul feat Idris Elba – Boasty: 8/10

#31 Dreamville feat JID, EARTHGANG, Buddy & Guapdad 4000 – Wells Fargo: A fun and silly song from the compilation. These guys were really having fun in the studio. 8/10

#30 Rayvanny feat Diamond Platnumz – Tetema: 7/10

#29 Diamond Platnumz – Kanyaga: It is official, Diamond is making or involving himself in songs that are about verbs. First, it was Tetema, Kainama, Inama and now we have Kanyaga. 6/10

#28 Ed Sheeran feat Khalid – Beautiful People – Finally, a song I like from Ed’s upcoming collaborations album, This is a beautiful song from two great artists who share great chemistry here. 9/10

#27 Dreamville & Cozz feat REASON & Childish Major – LamboTruck: A slow song and I’m not so sure about it. Yeah, the bars are tight but I can’t seem to enjoy it as much. 7/10

#26 J Cole – MIDDLE CHILD: 8.2/10

#25 Rema – Dumebi: 6/10

#24 Dreamville, Bas & JID feat Guapdad 4000, Reese LAFLARE, Jace, Mez, Smokepurpp, Buddy & Ski Mask the Slump God – Costa Rica: Goodness me, all of those guys in a three-minute song. I can’t tell who’s who (except for Bas) but I vibe with it. 8/10

#23 NSG – OT Bop: 7/10

#22 Burna Boy – Gbona: 9/10

#21 Nviiri The Storyteller – Pombe Sigara: One of the first songs to come out from the Sol Generation label and it is off to a good start. Nviiri is a great artist and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us. 8.5/10

#20 Diamond Platnumz feat Inama: 8/10

#19 Ethic – Pandana: 7/10

#18 Nicki Minaj – MEGATRON: 6/10

#17 Miracle Baby feat Shalkido, Masilver, Lexxy Yung & Qoqosjuma – Wamlambez: 4/10

#16 Lil Nas X feat Billy Ray Cyrus – Old Town Road: 9.5/10

#15 Young Thug feat J Cole & Travis Scott – The London: 7/10

#14 Post Malone feat Young Thug – Goodbyes: So, Post Malone makes better songs about breakups than bragging and that’s okay with me. He can replicate Better Now a million times for all I care. 7.5/10

#13 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello – Senorita: 7/10

#12 Dreamville feat JID, Bas, J Cole, EARYHGANFG & Young Nudy – Down Bad: Is there really a need for me to write a review? You already know I vibe with almost every song so you can guess the score. 8.5/10

#11 Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber – I Don’t Care: 6/10

#10 Drake feat Rick Ross – Money In The Grave: 7.8/10

#9 Burna Boy – On the Low: 8.5/10

#8 Sauti Sol feat Bensoul, Nviiri the Storyteller, Crystal Asige & Kaskazini – Extravaganza: 9.4/10

#7 Chris Kaiga feat Tezzla – Zimenice: 7/10

#6 Dreamville feat J Cole, Lute & DaBaby – Under the Sun: We should do everything possible to protect J Cole. He is the only reason why I still have hope for Hip Hop. 9/10

#5 Harmonize, Burna Boy & Diamond Platnumz – Kainama: 7/10

#4 Chris Brown feat Drake – No Guidance: 8/10

#3 Burna Boy – Anybody: 7.8/10

#2 JoeBoy – Baby: 6/10

#1 Ethic Entertainment – Figa: 6/10

Today’s chart is evenly balanced out. Despite new songs coming from Dreamville only, I don’t think anyone can complain. I just wonder how long it will take for the Figa remix to make an appearance. Tbh, that was a poorly mixed remix. Yeah I said it. Come at me bros. I got time.
