East African Artist on the Rise – Wavinya Williams

Today we take a look at an artist on the rise, Wavinya Williams. Her latest hit song ‘PEMPI LOVE’ has hit the RnB waves and she definitely delivered what we needed in a love song. The song was produced by master producer, Lemario. When asked what inspired the song Wavinya says, “I wanted people to feel loved and cherished. The song also lights up the mood as it is a happy song“. Be the judge and listen to the song, if it doesn’t make you happy then I don’t know what will. This is the type of song that makes you sing to your lover who is not even your lover yet. Pempi Love definitely evokes feelings and emotions and is topped off with her amazing vocals.

The artist who draws great inspiration from Victoria Kimani started doing music in 2017. Two years down the line she has been able to release ‘Pole Pole’ featuring Raj, ‘Teuko’ and the most recent one, ‘Pempi Love’. When asked about her 2019 plans, she promised to release more quality music and also do her second feature. Her fans should expect a new song this April which they will hopefully love. Actually, scratch that, you will love it so that’s something to look out for this month.

Wavinya is also open to working with other artists both locally and internationally. She believes in diversity of music and doesn’t feel like she is cut out just for one specific genre. “In Kenya, I would love to collaborate with Naiboi and internationally Tiwa savage. I feel like she elevates African music and I’m all about that. In East Africa I would love to work with Jux because I love his style of music“, she goes ahead to say when asked about working with other artists.

She is definitely a talent to reckon with and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for us this year. The new single ‘Pempi Love’ is out now on all streaming platforms and you can watch the visuals created by FreshPlug on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU_Eg3oGRGI).
